Accident 30 km (18.8 mls) E of Punia Airport (PUN) (Congo (Democratic Republic)) 31 August 2007. The Twin Otter took off from runway 10 at Punia and was being ferried back from Punia to Goma in VMC. It was involved in an accident some 8-10 minutes after departure when the vertical stabiliSeries hit high tension wires that provides electrical power to the town of Tshamaka and which crosses the River Lowa. The pilot lost control of the aircraft and the airplane crash-landed in the River. The airplane came to rest inverted in the water and was badly damaged and soon after sank into the river.

Solenta’s Emergency Response Plan was initiated at the distress call phase Both the pilots were located and extracted by the client's own Search and Rescue party with a C208 dispatched from nearby Goma, to the east. A Solenta engineer was aboard the C208 involved in the S&R mission and the aircraft and crew were located within a very short space of time. The report states that the two crew members were fatally injured.
