Note: Although this aircraft is shown as having been operated and owned by Scenic Airlines from Mar-1988 until Nov-1993 and then subsequently operated as a leased aircraft, the background ownership is somewhat convoluted.

The owners of Scenic, the Siebold family, sold out to Skywest on 16-Jun-1993. The aircraft however never carried the Skywest markings or colours. Skywest then divested their ownership of Scenic on 23-Dec-1998 to Eagle Canyon Airlines but the aircraft was still owned by Twin Otter International and continued to be operated by on lease to Scenic (owned by Eagle Canyon). Twin Otter International sold the aircraft to Eagle Canyon Leasing with the lease to operate continuing with Scenic. It is understood that Eagle Canyon Leasing failed and Scenic was acquired by Grand Canyon Airlines on 29-Mar-2007. Again the lease continued as the aircraft was sold to Monarch Enterprises, a holding company for the Halvorson family owners of Grand Canyon Airlines and Scenic.
